Nne Agwu 6-day Storytelling Festival 2026
The Spirit of Stories: The Power Of Voice: The Activation of Imagination
BACK BY COMMUNITY DEMAND
Shanti-Chi invite exclusively melanin rich indigenous community, to join us at the Nne Agwu Afrakan storytelling festival, 6-day family retreat glamp camp. As we connect to our family and community values healing within the nurturing of Mother Nature.
Nne Agwu artists and facilitators frame our story-trail, workshops, performances, night walks, round the fire and under the stars discussions, music and spoken word jams, on the theme of High priestess warrior Kandake Amaneraneus: the greatest leader of all time!
Her story is here to inspire us and guide us on how to navigate successfully these very challenging times.
NNE AGWU STORYTELLING FESTIVAL -
17 YEARS STRONG 🌿
Nne Agwu is a legacy, we continue to walk together ❤️
For 17 years, Nne Agwu Storytelling Festival has held space for us. Not as a trend. Not as a moment.
But as a commitment to our community, to our culture, and to our continuity.
This gathering exists because our ancestors innerstood something vital:
👉🏾Our Stories have integrity.
👉🏾Our Creatvity is truth.
👉🏾Our Community raises children.
👉🏾Our Art carries spiritual power.
👉🏾Our Healing happens together.
👉🏾Our Revolution is self-love
👉🏾Our Evolution is divine
Seventeen years on, Nne Agwu Storytelling Festival remains a living village, where elders are honoured, parents are supported, young people are development, and children grow up knowing who they are and where they come from.
In a time when families and community members are under pressure and culture is often corrupted, Nne Agwu stands firm as a rooted, intentional sacred space for reconnection, learning, and collective healing.
This is legacy in action:
• Children more than just hear about traditions. At Nne Agwu they witness and partake in traditions live!
• Families learn together in nature
• Wisdom passes hand to hand, mind to mind, heart to heart, soul to soul
• Community builds across generations
This is more than an Storytelling festival.
It is 17 years of trust, love & first-hand insights of our ancient knowledge!
🌍 If we know the value of legacy,
🌍 If we know the value of raising children with cultural grounding,
🌍 If we know the value of community unity,
Then we know the value of the Nne Agwu space.
❤️🖤💚 Please share! Tell a friend to tell a friend to tell their family to tell a family to come gather in community!

First we had the voice, we spoke, we called, we shouted, we sang, we made different sounds, to communicate and innerstand each other. Then came the drumbeat to resonate with our heartbeat. It's a whole language in itself and it's based on our original languages. We've got drummers for children and drummers for adults.
-
Adults' workshops are open to children. Young people's workshops are open to adults and all children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The safety of all under 16 years old are the responsibility of their guardian(s). We wish to create an intergenerational vibration, where we can all work together. Grow together, be audience and participant simultaneously.
