Nne Agwu 1-day Storytelling Feast
The Spirit of Stories: The Power Of Voice

Nne Agwu Constitution was invited to return to Oxford to do the Nne Agwu 5 day family festival which we were really looking forward to organising and attending. I love the Nne Agwu 5 day family retreat / festival. It is a time when we divine melanin rich beings create a safe sacred space to develop our gifts, share our gifts and receive the gifts of others. A place where we can be who we need to be to do what we come to do. I love the energy of the Nne Agwu village. I open my tent and call out and someone hears me and I hear someone. We can be present for ourselves and each other. A place where we are free to just be!
The Oxford man decided he would use it as an opportunity to charge 3 times the price he had charged just 2 years ago. His greed forced me to decline his invitation. I did look at 6 other possible venues. None except one was a suitable offer for our prestigious annual event. Wasing estate had what we needed and wanted. The price tag was £27,000. How could we justify asking our community to give £27,000 to a group of people whose wealth is a direct result of the blood sweat and trauma of our ancestors and due to the transatlantic slave trade.
There came a time when I had to make the difficult choice to postpone until next year. The amount of time needed to organise a well cordinated 5 day family retreat / festival for melanin rich community had run out. Full of disappointment I decided that myself and the dream will organise 1 day of magic for the community this year 2025 and use a year to prepare properly for the 5-day retreat / festival for 2026, next year.
All those attending the one day storytelling feast 2025 will receive a discount for Nne Agwu 2026. Well done your for having the vision. I know it does not make up for the disapointment some of you are feeling in your heart. and for that I am sorry. It is a small token. Do come and gather and be reminded of the magic that is Nne Agwu Village.
